My Updated Bunny Egg

When I was around 13ish my girlfriend and I made these cute little eggs and my Mom still sets them out every year for Easter. I thought it was time to see if I could update the little critter:) Now, let me tell you off the bat...these things are time consuming! Originally, we used real eggs and poked little holes in both ends of the egg and blew the insides out. We used colored construction paper, a hole punch and started punching out like crazy! Then we just started gluing one circle at the very bottom and started layering them on top of each other until we were done! For my updated version I just bought a paper mache egg. I also used Mod Podge to glue the circles down and then put a layer on the top. The purple and white egg was made by gluing crochet thread around and around the paper mache egg.

So sorry that my post is so long, but I've been really busy lately and I'm trying to design digital kits and do all of my CT stuff...so here's a mix of it all:)

The Digi Chick Hybrid Challenge

Aww, isn't he just precious. Honestly, I just LOVE this guy! My husband bought him for me for an anniversay gift a little over a year ago and he is just the sweetest thing:) Bentley is a Ragdoll and when he was purchased we agree to not let him go out doors. My Dad seems to think a bird would peck him to death if we did. I snapped this photo of him while he was looking out our big picture window in our dining room. He always sits in the window ceil and day dreams.

I used four Sugarplum Paperie kit's: China Blue, Autumn Blooms, A Little Birdie and the February Grab Bag. I also did this LO for a Hybrid Challenge at the Digi Chick. This weeks challenge is to digi scrap something and then frame it. Here's my framed picture below. Below is the reward if you decide to play along. Memories of Mom

Oh my, have I already had a busy week. I've started designing hybrid goodies for the Digi Chick and they have so many things to choose from. I ended up picking out this cute little album template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff. You can find it here. I also used Sugarplum Paperie's new kit Strawberry au Lait.

I decided that I wanted to bind the book, but I still wanted all the layers visible. I did this buy cutting out transparencies into 5x6 sheets and scoring the left side at 1 inch. I then made all the front pages to my book, cut them out and glued them on to the transparencies. Then I repeated with the back sides. I punched 2 holes on the side and added eyelets, ribbon and a heart jewel to the front.

BTW, if you're reading this Mom...yes I made this for you!

2009 Family Calendar

Here's my lastest project. I always make these every year for my mom, mil, husband and myself. This is the first year that I've done them digitally. Wow, it was so much faster this way. I usually head over to my Aunt's house(my Stampin' Up! supplier) and make them in one of her classes. Instead of using a cd case to hold the calendars I picked up one of those clear plastic picture frames that you can get at Walmart or the office supply stores. This frame is 3 1/2 x 5. I used my freebie calendar found here. All other digital supplies are Sugarplum Paperie's. The kits I used, in order, were December Grab Bag, December Grab Bag, Chilled Wine, Lime Twist, A little Birdie, Twitter Blossoms, China Blue, Mango Sorbet, Whimsey Doodle, Midnight Garden Party(Harvest Freebie), December Grab Bag, and December Grab Bag.

Megan's Journal

So I finally finished Megan's gift. I made this journal for her...it matches the jewelry box I made for her. I used Sugarplum Paperie's Midnight Garden Party kit. I have been making several of these journals lately. They are awesome gifts for kids that love to doodle or write. Even better yet they are super cheap to make...journals are usually $1.00 or less. 

Altered Wooden Snowman

This snowman was so much fun to make! The other day I was at Michaels looking at all of wooden shapes and thought this little guy would be so cute covered in paper. I scanned him to get his dimensions and used Sugarplum Paperie's December Grab Bag for my paper and elements. I used CS4 to design his face and nose. Other supplies: jewels, wire, ribbon, wooden stick, pop dots, chipboard for the sign, Soft Sky SU! ink, and Stazon Brown to sponge around the outside.

Midnight Garden Party Jewelry Box

Hi everyone! Here's my lastet project with this little wooden jewelry box I found at the craft store. I covered it with Sugarplum Paperie's Midnight Garden Party digital kit. You can't see it in the pictures, but I ran the paper through my Big Kick before gluing it onto the box. It looks so cute with all the raised swirls. I used Mod Podge to glue everything down and then put a coat of it on the top of everything. I digi-scrapped some pictures for the the inside of the drawers. This box is for my friends daughter who LOVES the Jonas Brothers. So I put them in the top with a little paper covered wooden heart. I put a rub on on the mirror that says...Ooh la la. In the bottom draw I digi-scrapped pictures of her with her kitty, sister and friends. I still have to add a little bling to it and a drawer pull.

2009 CD Calendars

Hi everyone! Have you ever wanted to make one of those cute CD calendars? Well, here's your chance! I've made a 2009 calendar ready for you to digi-scrap.

First, here is the calendar that I made for you using a font from my MacFonts package. The page is already sized for you, so all you will need to do now is scrap up each month and print them out! You can fit 2 on one 8.5 x 11 page if you turn them sideways.

Once they're printed, cut them out and open up your CD case, carefully turning the front cover towards the back cover. Place your photo in the cover. It's just that easy!

Here's mine using Sugarplum Paperie goodies and Sir Bentley B Elvis...yes that is his papered name! My boys wanted his name to be Elvis so I compromised. Not sure were Joshua got the B from, but I thought it was cute.

You're Purrfect Mini Album

This is a little mini album I made using Sugarplum Paperie's Twitter Blossom kit. I used mat board and cut it with my Big Kick. I punched holes in the top left corner with the cropadile and held it together with a post screw. The front and back cover are distressed, sewn and embossed with Fiskars dots template. The stamp is a Studio G $1.00 stamp. Circle and Scallop punches are from SU! Added jewels and ribbon. The inside pages are digi scrapped and distressed. Inside pages are posted below.

These are the four pages that I digi scraped with Twitter Blossoms paper by Sugarplum Paperie. Our cat Bentley is so funny. When he was a kitten he fit perfectly in this little basket. Now 13 lbs and still growing he some how squooshed himself into it and everything else in our home. The latest was my sons Adidas football shoe box. As you can see we had to throw it away!
