My Updated Bunny Egg

When I was around 13ish my girlfriend and I made these cute little eggs and my Mom still sets them out every year for Easter. I thought it was time to see if I could update the little critter:) Now, let me tell you off the bat...these things are time consuming! Originally, we used real eggs and poked little holes in both ends of the egg and blew the insides out. We used colored construction paper, a hole punch and started punching out like crazy! Then we just started gluing one circle at the very bottom and started layering them on top of each other until we were done! For my updated version I just bought a paper mache egg. I also used Mod Podge to glue the circles down and then put a layer on the top. The purple and white egg was made by gluing crochet thread around and around the paper mache egg.

Here's my list of supplies
  • Sugarplum Paperie's Grapefruit Twist and White Blank Slate digital paper
  • small and large SU! oval punches
  • Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa ink and marker
  • black CS
  • blue jewels
  • Mod Podge
  • hole punch
  • paper mache egg

Lots of Stuff!

So sorry that my post is so long, but I've been really busy lately and I'm trying to design digital kits and do all of my CT here's a mix of it all:)
My Mom and I made these cute egg baskets with Kelleigh Ratzlaff's templates. You can find them at the Digi Chick.
This LO of Bentley was made from Ro Hall's Carousel Ride kit. You can pick it up the kit for free...along with my Spring Bliss kit and 8 other designers kits at ScrapMatters.
This LO of my cowboys is made with Pamela Donnis's collab with Krystal Hartley. Go check out Wild, Wild West at The DigiChick.
I just can't wait for summer. Mari Koegelenberg's new kit Maroccon Sunset and Photo Maks Vol. 2 inspired me to do this LO. You can pick both of them up at the Digi Chick.
I made this cute LO of Josh on a field trip with Courtney Wilson's Every Day Miracles. You can find it at the Digi Chick.
Here's one more LO I made of Josh...he finally lost his first tooth! YAY! Everything is from my Round 2 and 3 paper and element pack Old-Time Elegance from ScrapMatters. And finally my last LO is made with this awesome kit...Strawberry Cafe. It's by Sugarplum Paperie and you can find it at The Digi Chick. Any guesses who is in this picture?

Loads of Eggs

Yay! I just couldn't wait to use my new Loads of Love Accessories stamp set! I love these little eggs that go in the back of the pickup.

On this card I used Sugarplum Paperie's Grapefruit Twist and China Blue Digital Paper. The edges are inked with Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery CS for the base and the center, and scalloped nestibilities. Around the outside of the center layer I paper pierced the edge and hand stitched it. The little pickup has been stamped 2 times and then popped. The front and back lights, bumpers, tires and rims have been stamped individually, colored and Crystal Effects were applied. Then they were paper pieced to the pickup. The eggs 2 times and popped the top one. I added ribbon to each of the corners and hand cut out my cute little words.

Supplies: Grapefruit Twist Digital Paper by Sugarplum Paperie, Pretty in Pink and Black Stazon Ink, Various SU! Markers, Silver Sharpie, Nestibilties, Crystal Effects, Hand Sewing, Paper Piercing, Ribbon, Pop Dots, Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories Stamp Sets.

The Digi Chick Hybrid Challenge

Aww, isn't he just precious. Honestly, I just LOVE this guy! My husband bought him for me for an anniversay gift a little over a year ago and he is just the sweetest thing:) Bentley is a Ragdoll and when he was purchased we agree to not let him go out doors. My Dad seems to think a bird would peck him to death if we did. I snapped this photo of him while he was looking out our big picture window in our dining room. He always sits in the window ceil and day dreams.

I used four Sugarplum Paperie kit's: China Blue, Autumn Blooms, A Little Birdie and the February Grab Bag. I also did this LO for a Hybrid Challenge at the Digi Chick. This weeks challenge is to digi scrap something and then frame it. Here's my framed picture below. Below is the reward if you decide to play along. I'll be hosting next week with some really cute stuff:) So be on the watch for it next week.
And one last thing, if you want to check out my tutorial on photo scanning you can find it here.

Happy Valentines Day and Happy Birthday!

I made this card with Sugarplum Paperie's digital February Grab bag. I picked out one of my favorite photo's of my husband and I, added ribbon, heart jewel and sponged close to cocoa ink around the edges.

I also made these tags with Sugarplum Paperies digital February Grab Bag.

Other supplies: ribbon, red glitter, horizontal slot punch and plastic containers loaded with candy:)

I made this cute little box with Kelleigh Ratzlaff's February Grab Bag and Mari Koegelenberg's digital Ultimate Baby Girl Collection kit.

Other supplies: transparencies, small and large tag and horizontal punches, ribbon, Taggers Dozen stamp set, heart brad, Pink CS, Close to Cocoa Ink and Coluzzle cutting system....oh and candy:)

and finally.....

The last thing I would like to share with you is a picture of Joshua with his BLUE dragon cake. I always let my boys pick out what kind of birthday cake they want and make it for them, but this year 3 out of the 5 of us have been sick. So, I cheated a little. I went and bought a cake(that wasn't decorated yet)and some Wilton's colored frosting. Joshua picked out a picture of a dragon and I did my best to put it on his cake. Happy Birthday My Little Sunshine!

Another Quick Page

This little booger is my second oldest son Joshua when he was 3 months old.  Yikes! Were did time go! I just LOVE those little lollipops on this page:)

So check out this picture of Joshua, I scanned it and this is what it looked like. Ugh! I looks terrible.

....and this is what it looked like after I played around with it in Photoshop. Wow! What a difference. I'm scheduled to do a tut on Sugarplum Paperie's blog on February 17th and I thought I would do it on scanning photos. Now, by NO means am I an expert on this, but I can tell you what I've learned from winging it:) So be on the watch for my "Just Winging It" tutorial on scanning photos:)

Memories of Mom

Oh my, have I already had a busy week. I've started designing hybrid goodies for the Digi Chick and they have so many things to choose from. I ended up picking out this cute little album template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff. You can find it here. I also used Sugarplum Paperie's new kit Strawberry au Lait.

I decided that I wanted to bind the book, but I still wanted all the layers visible. I did this buy cutting out transparencies into 5x6 sheets and scoring the left side at 1 inch. I then made all the front pages to my book, cut them out and glued them on to the transparencies. Then I repeated with the back sides. I punched 2 holes on the side and added eyelets, ribbon and a heart jewel to the front.

BTW, if you're reading this Mom...yes I made this for you!

Flirty Skirty Love

I found this $1.00 wooden Love sign at Michaels craft store the other day. It was an awful pink color. I decided to paint it black and cover it with Sugarplum Paperie's Flirty Skirty digital papers. I scanned the Love to get a pattern and used 2 different papers to cover it.

Awesome You Journal and Jewelry Box

Hi everyone:) I am finally getting around to posting the 2nd jewelry box and journal that I made. This time I used a kit by Alma Townsend called Awesome You. If you haven't seen my other box and journal you can find them here and here.

Be Mine

Happy New Year everyone! Wow, it's been a while since I've made a post. For this hybrid project
I used a wooden heart that I found at Michaels craft store and Sugarplum Paperie's new kit First Kiss of Spring. I scanned it to get a pattern and then scrapped the heart. I printed it out, glued it, punched holes in the sides with my cropadile, and added wire.
